Smiling Family

OUR SERVICES.

CHILD COUNSELLING.

At Mustard, our approach to counselling children is grounded in research, connection and fun.

We know that meaningful change happens when children feel safe, understood, and engaged and that happens best through connection, not conversation alone.

Children make sense of their world through play and doing, so our sessions are hands-on and

creative. We use a mix of craft, games, movement, storytelling, and practical activities to help children explore feelings, build skills, and express themselves in ways that feel natural and enjoyable.

Each session is guided by the child’s unique strengths, interests, and developmental stage, allowing us to tailor support that meets them where they are. Our work is informed by evidence-based approaches woven together in a way that feels playful, safe, and meaningful.

We believe every child has the capacity to grow — they just need the right environment, the right guidance, and a little fun along the way.

Child Counselling
Teen Young Adult Counselling

TEEN & YOUNG ADULT COUNSELLING.

We understand that being a teenager or young adult comes with big changes, pressures, and decisions. Navigating high school, early careers, and study can feel overwhelming — especially when anxiety, depression, social challenges, or relationship struggles get in the way.

Your mental health and wellbeing matter. We're here to help you find clarity, confidence, and balance. Our integrated approach combines evidence-based therapies with a person-centred focus. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, build practical strategies, and create a path forward  that feels right for you.

Sessions are relaxed, supportive, and designed to meet you where you’re at. Whether you’re working through stress, identity, motivation, friendships, or the uncertainty of what comes next, we’ll help you understand yourself better and build skills to move forward with confidence.

At Mustard, we believe every young person deserves to feel seen, capable, and hopeful about their future — and we’re here to walk alongside you as you find your way.

Parent Carer Counselling

PARENT & CARER COUNSELLING.

Parenting and caring for children can be one of life’s most rewarding — and most challenging — experiences. At Mustard, we understand that behind every child’s story is a parent or carer doing their best to nurture, guide, and hold things together, often in the midst of complex emotions, behaviours, and family dynamics.

Our counselling for parents and carers provides a supportive space to reflect, reset, and find practical ways forward. We help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface — for both you and your child — and build strategies that strengthen connection, communication, and calm in everyday life.

We have extensive experience supporting foster and kinship carers, and we recognise the unique joys and challenges that come with caring for children who have experienced trauma, and the complexities of navigating the Child Protection System. Our approach honours the courage, patience, and love that carers bring, while providing evidence-based, relational support that helps everyone in the family thrive.

At Mustard, we believe that when parents and carers are supported, children flourish too.

NDIS Counselling

NDIS CAPACITY BUILDING.

As a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), Mustard provides

Capacity Building – Daily Living supports for children and young people.

Our counselling services help NDIS participants (Self Managed and Plan Managed) to develop the emotional, social, and practical skills they need to feel confident and capable in everyday life. Sessions are playful, creative, and guided by each child’s unique goals and interests.

We support children and youth to build:

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Social understanding and communication

  • Confidence, self-esteem, and independence

  • Problem-solving and flexible thinking

  • Daily routines and personal organisation

  • Positive relationships and connection

  • Resilience through life changes and transitions

Every session is linked to the participant’s NDIS goals and plan, using evidence-based, person-centred, and developmentally appropriate approaches to support growth, wellbeing, and a strong sense of self.
